Ivan Trojan has once again been voted Best Actor in Advertising. Kofola’s Christmas piglet has also retained its title as Best Advertising Mascot.
At Tuesday’s gala ceremony for the Effie Awards, recognizing creativity in advertising, the winners of the Best Actor/Actress and Best Mascot in Advertising categories were also announced. Ivan Trojan topped the actors’ ranking for the fifth time this year, while the golden piglet from Kofola’s commercials once again dominated the ranking of the best advertising mascots.
The results are based on a regular survey conducted by Ressolution Group in cooperation with Nielsen and the Association of Czech Advertising Agencies. More than 8,000 respondents aged 15 and over, all members of the Czech National Panel, completed the survey online.

Ivan Trojan received a score of 7.31 from respondents for his performance in Czech Railways (České dráhy) commercials. Taťána Kuchařová, who appeared in advertisements for Astratex, took second place this year. Third place went to Tomáš Jeřábek for his role in Air Bank commercials, in which, coincidentally, he made his final appearance this year. Fourth and fifth places were taken by actor Martin Hofmann (Vodafone) and model Natálie Jirásková (Astratex), respectively.
Animals and animated characters dominate the TOP 5 ranking of the best advertising mascots. In first place, just like last year, was the animated golden piglet from Kofola’s Christmas commercial, earning a final score of 7.95. The iconic duo Pat and Mat from Česká podnikatelská pojišťovna commercials came second, followed by the cat from Purina advertisements in third place. Olda the Goat from Velkopopovický Kozel commercials ranked fourth, while the Whiskas cat rounded out the top five.
Actors and mascots were evaluated based on commercials that premiered in the Czech Republic between September 2022 and August 2023, using a scale from 0 to 10. The overall winners were the actor or actress and mascot with the highest average scores. The Best Actor/Actress in Advertising category has been awarded in the Czech Republic for eight consecutive years.
During the period under review, more than 210 unique commercials featuring actors or actresses were broadcast on Czech television channels, with over 120 personalities appearing in them. In the mascot category, approximately 170 commercials featured more than 70 different characters.
