A total of 196 communication projects and corporate media entries have progressed to the final of the 24th Zlatý středník competition. This year, entries from a total of 650 submissions received by the competition from the Czech Republic and Slovakia are in the running for the awards.

Among the clients, Penta Hospitals CZ and Plzeňský Prazdroj received the most nominations. O2, Orlen Unipetrol RPA, SK Slavia Praha and TV Nova also have three or more nominations. Among Slovak organisations, 365.bank and Slovenská sporiteľňa were particularly successful.

Among agencies , FleishmanHillard, Hero & Outlaw, MSL Czech Republic, Svengali Communications, Wiktor Leo Burnett and SKPR Strategies appear most frequently on the shortlists. New Logic Studio, Scale Social, Taste, Triad and Topis PR & Marketing have also received three or more nominations.

The public and non-profit sectors are also strongly represented this year. Organisations with at least three nominations include the Czech Academy of Sciences, BESIP, the Prague Botanical Garden, the Czech Insurance Association, the Institute for Youth Political Participation and Tadeáš Řáha.

A total of 650 projects from 221 organisations were submitted for this year’s competition. A panel of 160 judges, organised into 18 specialist juries, decided which projects would progress to the final. According to the organisers, the differences between projects were minimal in a number of categories.

Around a fifth of the finalists are Slovak entries. A total of 38 projects from Slovakia made it onto the shortlist.

The categories that attracted the most interest from entrants were ‘Creative Idea’ and ‘Integrated Campaign’, with 46 projects submitted. These were followed by the ‘Social Responsibility, Sustainability and ESG’ category with 44 entries, and the ‘Events’ category with 42 entries.

“The projects that made it through to the final were those that managed to impress not only with their creative execution, but also with a well-thought-out strategy and demonstrable results. It was precisely this ability to make a real impact that was one of the key factors the juries took into account during their evaluation,” said Petra Adámková, Chair of the ASCOP Executive Committee.

The winners will be announced on 10 September during a gala evening at Empire Hall in Slovanský dům in Prague. The most successful projects will also have the opportunity to represent the Czech Republic and Slovakia in the international World Public Relations & Communication Awards competition.
