The historic clash between two Czech tennis players in the Wimbledon final will also be shown on free-to-air television. It will be broadcast on TV Prima’s main channel.

The Prima Group has secured sub-licensing rights to the live broadcast of the first-ever all-Czech women’s Wimbledon final. The agreement was concluded with Warner Bros. Discovery, which holds the broadcasting rights to the tournament. The final will be broadcast on Saturday 11 July from 4.30 pm on TV Prima’s main channel, and will also be shown simultaneously on Eurosport 2. Karolína Muchová and Linda Nosková will face each other in the final.

According to Warner Bros. Discovery, the agreement is part of an effort to make major sporting events accessible to the widest possible audience. “This sub-licence agreement reflects our commitment to making top sporting events accessible to the widest possible audience, strengthening our collaboration with local partners and bringing fans the very best of world tennis,” said Trojan Paillot, SVP of Rights, Syndication and Commercial Development at Warner Bros. Discovery.

Prima describes the inclusion of the final in its schedule as an extraordinary sporting event. “The first all-Czech Wimbledon final deserves the widest possible television audience, which is why we have done our utmost to ensure that viewers can watch this extraordinary match on Prima,” said Alex Ruzek, Chief Broadcasting & Radio Officer of the Prima Group.

Broadcasting on the main TV Prima channel will begin at 4.30 pm with a special pre-match studio programme offering analysis and commentary. The news and sports editorial teams are also preparing live reports directly from London, content for social media and other editorial formats.

The broadcast of the final is part of the Prima Group’s plan to expand its sports content and launch a new sports channel.
