Fragmentation has changed how people watch and how advertisers plan, though it hasn’t changed what brands need. Brands still need scale, quality contacts, measurable business outcomes and trusted contexts.
The harder part is comparing those conditions across very different video formats. A served impression records delivery. It does not tell you how long the ad was actually viewed, or much about the context of that exposure.
In UK data featured in the deck, a 30-second TV ad delivers 10,627 attentive seconds per 1,000 impressions, compared with 3,579 for YouTube no-skip and 581-632 across the social formats measured.
The deck also includes research linking attentive seconds with long-term profit ROI across media channels. An analysis of 9,000 brand-lift studies finds higher attention associated with greater lifts in awareness, consideration, preference and action intent.
That attention evidence is one part of a wider picture, as the The Power of TV Advertising 2026 deck brings together international research across scale, business results, attention, trust and innovation. Five areas we’ll return to over the coming weeks.
