The 24th Golden Semicolon competition has announced its winners. The Prague Public Health Authority, with its project ‘Crisis Communication Management during the Hepatitis A Outbreak in Prague’, won not only the Project of the Year award but also the Grand Prix for Responsible Communication. The results were announced at a gala evening at Empire Hall in Prague, organised annually by the professional organisation ASCOPA.

The ‘Project of the Year’ award went to ‘Crisis Communication Management during the Hepatitis A Outbreak in Prague and the Launch of the Campaign “The Virus Is Closer Than You Think”’ by the Prague Public Health Authority. Prague faced its largest hepatitis A epidemic in 40 years. The institution, with its new communications team, adopted a strategy of transparency, data and collaboration rather than silence. This led to the creation of a campaign that brought together the public and private sectors and had an impact across the whole city. This project also won the Grand Prix for Responsible Communication.

The Best Agency award went to the Hero & Outlaw team, which has been operating on the Czech market since 2018. In recent years, it has been one of the most successful agencies in the Zlatý středník competition. “The fact that Hero & Outlaw has been named Best Agency confirms that the juries recognise not only individual projects but also the long-term quality of work carried out by entire teams,” said Petra Adámková, chair of ASCOPA.

This year’s PR Personality award went to Uljana Donátová for her exceptional contribution to Czech film PR. She is responsible for the communications for dozens of Czech films and is one of the leading figures in cultural communications. As press spokesperson and PR manager for the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, she has also been responsible for the communications of one of the most significant cultural events in the Czech Republic for many years.

It combined Czech glass art, light, music and nature to create a UNESCO-sponsored project that attracted 87,000 visitors and more than tripled visitor numbers compared with the same period in previous years.

Alice Mikulášová received the Grand Prix Talent Award for her innovative integration of media, political communication and social engagement, with a focus on the younger generation. Mikulášová is the founder of the media project BoldNews and has long been involved in political marketing and effective communication with Generation Z. A new feature of this year’s event was the ‘Grand Prix Interkář of the Year’ award. This was won by Agata Hauerová for her long-standing contribution to the development of internal communications in the Czech Republic. She regularly demonstrates how to foster change, corporate culture and employee engagement. She shares her experience as a trainer and mentor and is co-author of the podcast ‘Hoří ti interka, má panenko’.
