What you will find in the article:

  • Aqualand Moravia's campaign reached over 1.8 million users.
  • The advert exceeded 7 million views on Meta and YouTube.
  • More than 275,000 viewers watched over half of the advert.
  • The campaign emphasizes narrative-driven storytelling and humor.
  • Filming took place in Croatia, highlighting cultural irony.
At a time when feeds are flooded with fast-paced cuts, generic formats and AI-generated visuals, Aqualand Moravia has opted for the opposite approach. Instead of Czechs heading to the seaside, it shows Croatians setting off on holiday to Moravia – a simple twist on the stereotype that defies expectations.

Launched on 10 July, the campaign reached over 1.8 million users within a few days and exceeded 7 million views across Meta and YouTube platforms.

However, more significant than the reach itself is the data on engagement. More than 275,000 people watched more than half of the advert, and over 83,000 viewers watched it right to the end (data as at 22 July). For a longer, narrative-driven format, this is an above-average result. It is precisely metrics such as watch time and completion rate that have increasingly influenced content distribution and its actual performance on platforms in recent years.

The advert relies on quickly drawing the viewer into the situation, clear context and a touch of exaggeration that resonates with a wide audience. It’s not about saying everything in the first few seconds, but about giving the viewer a reason to stay.

Aqualand Moravia, meanwhile, has long been committed to a format that is not commonplace in today’s news feed – narrative, cinematic adverts. Instead of product-focused messages, it works with emotion, humour and a distinctive concept, thereby reinforcing the perception of the brand as a destination, not just a one-off trip.

The campaign and concept were developed by the video production company Overhere, which has been working with Aqualand for many years. The direction and screenplay are the work of Jan Kolář, who drew on his own personal experience. “Years ago, we went to Croatia with the family, but our Forman broke down on the way and we ended up spending an unplanned night in Zadar. That moment has stayed with me,” he explains.

Filming took place in Croatia itself, and the advert plays on details, stereotypes and a touch of cultural irony. “At a time when rapid cuts and AI-generated content dominate, I see a return to storytelling and humour as a natural breath of fresh air,” adds Kolář.

The campaign thus confirms that, alongside impact, the ability to hold the viewer’s attention is also crucial. In an environment of information overload, this is becoming one of the most valuable metrics.
