On Monday 17 August at 6.00 am, the Prima Group launched its new themed channel, Prima sport. The channel is available free-to-air via DVB-T2 terrestrial broadcasting on the nationwideMultiplex 24 in standard definition (SD). However, viewers can also watch it in HD via pay-TV satellite, cable and IPTV services.
It kicked off its first day of broadcasting at 6.00 am with the programme Česko živě. The morning and afternoon schedule is complemented by the sports programmes Move It!, Loop Sport and Sportovní zprávy. The line-up will also include a recording of the Chance National League match between FC Silon Táborsko and Slezský FC Opava.
In the afternoon, the channel will focus on international sport. Viewers will see coverage of the Hamburg Beach Pro Tour 2026 tournament, whilst the evening will be dedicated to football and broadcasts of the Polish Ekstraklasa. Live coverage of matches from Poland’s top flight will be complemented by pre-match, half-time and post-match episodes of Studio Fotbal.
The first day’s programme will conclude with further episodes of the Loop Sport magazine programme and the documentary series Svět sportu: Rok za rokem, which charts significant sporting events of the past decades.
Viewers receiving a TV signal via an aerial can tune in to Prima sport free of charge after automatically or manually retuning their TV or set-top box. In addition to terrestrial broadcasting, the new channel has also been added to the line-up by operators Oneplay, Skylink, Vodafone TV, T-Mobile, SledovaniTV, Poda, Starnet and other television service providers.
Prima Sport follows on from the Sporty TV channel, which is ceasing broadcasts. Overall, the new sports channel is the Prima Group’s ninth linear channel and its first-ever sports channel.
