According to new data, subscriptions todigital and other services are among the expenses that Czechs often lose track of. Most people pay for several services at the same time, but some of them do not use them regularly, or at all.

Accordingto new data, subscriptions to digital and other services represent a significant item in Czech household budgets, yet one that often goes unchecked in detail. This is evident from a combination of a representative survey by the Dynata agency and aggregated payment data from the fintech company Revolut.

According to the survey, 82% of Czechshave at least one active subscription. Most commonly, this involves one to two services (49%), a third of respondents (29%) report three to five, and 4% report six or more. The most common include mobile and internet tariffs, streaming platforms, software and cloud storage. More than 60% of people say they spend over 500 korunas a month on subscriptions, whilst a fifth spend more than 1,200 korunas.

Revolut’s data shows that Czech users spent a total of 1.24 billion korunas on subscription services in 2025, which equates to an average of approximately 4,900 korunas per person per year. The highest expenditure is reported by men aged 25 to 44, whose annual spending ranges between 5,800 and 7,300 korunas. The largest share of expenditure goes towards digital ecosystems (Apple, Google Play), mobile operators (T-Mobile, Vodafone) and streaming services (Netflix, Spotify).

The survey also states that 42% of respondents have active subscriptions that they use rarely or not at all. The most common reasons people give for not cancelling these services are keeping them “just in case”, forgetting about them, or a lack of motivation to deal with small amounts. According to the survey’s authors, this results in a long-term outflow of funds amounting to hundreds or even thousands of crowns a year.

About the survey

The findings are based on aggregated customer data from Revolut and a representative survey conducted in October 2025 by the research company Dynata via an online questionnaire among a sample of 1,000 respondents, representing the population of the Czech Republic aged 18 and over.
