From Sunday 11 October, Prima TV will be broadcasting a new sports news programme, produced in collaboration with the Prima Sport channel. The sports round-up will follow on from the Main News, and the presenting team will consist of Klára Kováčová, Radka Rosická and Lucie Šlégr. At the same time – on Sundays at 7.40 pm – a new programme format, News Centre, will begin on CNN Prima News.

“The new Sports News programme will be more than just a results service. It will cover the day’s most important events, key moments, major victories and painful defeats. Alongside up-to-date news coverage, there will also be space for unexpected records, interesting facts and moments that have the sporting world talking,” announced Prima TV.

“We want to create a programme for die-hard fans as well as for those who are drawn to the world of sport perhaps simply out of curiosity,” said Pavel Skořepa,editor-in-chief of the sports channel.

For model and entrepreneur Klára Kováčová, née Medková, ‘Sport News’ will be her first experience in front of a television camera. In 2003, she was crowned first runner-up in the Miss Czech Republic pageant. According to Prima, she has a keen interest not only in football but also in fitness and a healthy lifestyle.

Another face of the newly launched Sportovní zprávy will be Radka Rosická, née Kocurová. The 2002 Czech First Runner-up has extensive experience in presenting. She is very familiar with the Prima environment from presenting sports news on CNN Prima News.

The trio of presenters is completed by model and winner of the Miss Czech Republic 2005 contest, Lucie Šlégr, née Králová. She is set to make her television debut on Prima, though she is already familiar with presenting from her work in radio.

On Sunday, CNN Prima News will launch the ‘News Centre’ programme, developed in collaboration with CNN International. It is inspired by the programme ‘CNN News Central’. It will be presented by journalists Soňa Porupková, Lucie Čermáková and Petr Převrátil. The first few episodes will feature debates between Senate candidates competing in the second round of the Senate elections. The programme will subsequently focus on current affairs and current affairs commentary.

“The presenters will discuss key domestic and international issues in detail with their guests each day and, through analysis and hard data, clearly explain their real-world impact on everyday life. There will also be debates between politicians,” says CNN Prima News in its description of the new programme.
