What you will find in the article:

  • The Prima Group increased its net profit to CZK 530.9 million.
  • Turnover remained flat, whilst advertising revenue fell by 4 per cent.
  • Revenue from online advertising and Prima subscriptions grew.
  • 2025 was a successful year for digital services and viewing figures.
  • Prima operates 13 TV channels and 6 radio stations.
In 2025, the Prima Group maintained stable operating performance despite a decline in television advertising revenue. The growth in net profit was driven primarily by a significant improvement in financial performance and growing digital activities, led by prima+.

In 2025, the Prima Group saw a slight year-on-year increase in net turnover of just under one per cent to CZK 4.48 billion. Net profit rose by almost a fifth to CZK 530.9 million ( 19 per cent). This is according to the company’s annual report for 2025, filed with the Collection of Documents.

The growth in net profit was driven, compared with the previous year, by an improvement in the financial result, which ended with a surplus of CZK 40.5 million. However, the operating result remained at almost the same level as a year earlier. Prima therefore did not earn more from its core media activities than it did a year ago.

The largest share of revenue continued to come from the sale of television advertising. However, revenue from the sale of advertising time fell by four per cent year-on-year to CZK 3.14 billion. This represents a reduction of CZK 129 million. Other revenue from the sale of commercial messages also fell, dropping to CZK 356 million.

Conversely , revenue from online advertising and subscriptions to the prima+ streaming service grew , rising by more than 16 per cent to CZK 387.9 million. This represents an increase of CZK 54 million and accounts for 9 per cent of total revenue. The fastest-growing category was ‘other revenue’, comprising primarily the sale of rights and the ‘minipay’ service. Year-on-year, this rose by almost 32 per cent to CZK 598.8 million.

The results thus demonstrate the ongoing expansion of the revenue base beyond traditional television advertising. The share of revenue from online platforms, subscriptions and other activities increased further, partially offsetting the decline in advertising revenue from linear broadcasting.

In the annual report, Lukáš Kubát, CEO of the Prima Group, stated that 2025 had been a successful year for the company in terms of television viewing figures and the development of digital services. Among other things, he highlighted as key milestones the growth of the CNN Prima News multi-platform news service, the launch of the Prima Krimi SK channel in Slovakia , and the further development of the prima+  service , which exceeded 300,000 paying subscribers that year and recorded more than 200 million video views. According to recently published data, prima+’currently has 333,000 subscribers.

The past year was also marked by changes in Prima’s management team, with several top-level positions being filled by new appointees. These changes began as early as 2025 and continued this year.

Prima has been operating on the Czech market since 1993. In 2025, it operated thirteen nationwide TV channels, the prima+ platform, six radio stations, twenty web portals and more than fifty social media profiles.
