The Public Relations Association – APRA has announced the winners of the 21st Czech PR Awards – Lemur. The awards ceremony took place at a sold-out Prague Planetarium. The overall winner was the British Embassy in Prague. The APRA Personality of the Year award went to Jasmína Houdek, known for the Modern Self-Defence project. This year, APRA awarded a special prize to Vladimír Mikuláš in memoriam for his work with the ALSA association.
The agency Svengali Communications took home the most Lemur statuettes this year (6 awards), scoring highest with the project "Mladá krev do sněmovny: 30 pod 30".
Close behind were the agencies Havas PR and Topic PR (four awards each). Havas PR impressed with the project ‘Google Gemini: od chatbota k parťákovi’, reflecting current issues surrounding AI. Topic PR scored highly with the “Hele, motorka! ” campaign – a project that taught car drivers to spot motorcyclists.
With three awards each, Adison, Communication Lab, Lesensky.cz and MSL Czech Republic also ranked among the most successful.
Among companies, Slavia Prague football club and TV Nova also performed well, each winning three Lemurs.
A total of 37 entrants – agencies, clients, sports clubs and institutions – received awards, two more than in last year’s edition. Awards were presented in 24 categories from a total of 326 entries.
All winners in the main categories have the opportunity to represent the Czech Republic at the international SABRE Awards – at APRA’s expense. Czech agencies regularly enjoy success in international competition.

In the field of creative communication, this year was clearly dominated by the trend of PR activations and so-called stunts – events capable of generating an immediate wave of organic attention.
What was missing from this year’s competition was a stronger representation of projects in the field of digital communication, influencer marketing and entries from the non-profit sector. Given the topics currently shaping the world of PR, this is rather unusual.

One half of the couple, who specialise in personal self-defence, was nominated by the jury of the Czech PR Awards. The Newton Media agency carried out a media analysis of the three finalists, on the basis of which the APRA Executive Board selected the co-author of the Modern Self-Defence concept. This concept is based on carefully chosen communication tactics that can help prevent violence.
In addition, APRA awarded a Special Memorial Award. It was presented to Vladimír Mikuláš for his awareness-raising work in connection with ALS, a disease to which he himself succumbed this year.
“We were delighted by the quality and diversity of this year’s entries. We can clearly see that projects based on a long-term strategy and a strong partnership between the agency and the client work better,” said Radek Maršík, Chairman of the APRA Executive Board.
