It is precisely these festive days that often lend themselves to the simplest, yet most delightful programme – gathering at home with the family, cooking up something tasty, snuggling up on the sofa and spending the evening together in front of the telly. Watching TV together has a special charm during the holidays – fairy tales entertain both children and adults, well-known film classics stir up nostalgia, and new programmes can offer a shared experience that people talk about for a long time to come. The Easter TV schedule is thus not just a backdrop to the festive days, but often a part of family cosiness. This year, Nova and Prima TV will be providing just that, with their schedules featuring tried-and-tested Czech classics, popular fairy tales, entertaining programmes and exciting new shows.
Prima TV has approached this year’s Easter with a focus on tradition, nostalgia and cosy family moments
TV Prima has included a number of titles in its schedule that viewers love to revisit. The fairy-tale classic *The Madly Sad Princess*, which is one of those films that appeal across generations, will be featured, as will the legendary *Six Bears with Cibulka * and the timeless *The Stationmaster*.
Alongside these tried-and-tested titles, however, Prima will also offer other programme highlights. Its Easter line-up will include the film *Grandmother*, the fairy tale *Princess Jasněnka and the Flying Shoemaker*, the musical *Heaven and Bagpipes*, and the cult classic *Lemonade Joe*, which retains its unmistakable charm even after all these years. For viewers who want something a bit more contemporary alongside the film nostalgia, the schedule will also feature premiere episodes of the series O lidech a koních and the return of the well-known formats Asia Express and Prostřeno!. Prima’s programme thus offers a pleasant blend of tradition and contemporary television entertainment.
TV Nova offers programming for viewers of all ages
The Nova Group’s Easter programming is built on a combination of popular shows, themed specials, fairy tales and premieres. The Easter atmosphere will be enhanced by a special edition of the competition Na lovu, as well as festive episodes of the series Ulice, which has long been part of the daily evening routine for many households. In addition, Nova is adding new episodes of the series Sex O’Clock and Odznak Vysočina, as well as the new series Buldok z Poděbrad.
However, a key strength of Nova’s Easter line-up is also the films and fairy tales that are considered Czech television classics. The schedule will feature Dovolená s Andělem and Anděl na horách, a pair of titles that offer light-heartedness, humour and exactly the kind of atmosphere that fits perfectly with the festive mood. Family audiences will also be delighted by Ať žijí duchové! and Hrátky s čertem, so there will be no shortage of traditional Easter spirit here either.
Interestingly, Nova will also extend its festive line-up to its other channels and the Oneplay platform, so viewers who prefer more modern, action-packed or adventurous programming will also find something to their liking. For example, there will be the new animated film The Proud Princess, the film Pokémon: Detective Pikachu, Aquaman, and the series Sandokan: The Malayan Tiger. Nova Cinemawill then offer a varied mix of titles ranging from family films such as Madagascar and Peter Rabbit to films like Ready Player One, Se7en, and Noah. Action fans will also be catered for, as Nova Action will be showing films such as The Matrix Reloaded, U-571, Street Kings and Meg 2: The Trench.
Óčko TV has Easter specials too

Easter Monday will then be all about new music videos – tune in to Óčko and New Music Radar at 3 pm. At 9 pm, the Koťák Live Show will welcome Médecins Sans Frontières doctor Tomáš Šebek. Óčko Star will present legendary clips in brand-new, top-quality versions in the Remastery magazine, and to round off the festive weekend perfectly, it will host a rock party on Rock the Night from 10 pm.
This year’s Easter TV schedule confirms that the holidays aren’t just about traditions around the table, but also about time spent together. The television screen is one of the places where the family truly comes together for a while – children for a fairy tale, parents for their favourite show, grandparents for Czech classics. Commercial broadcasters are offering a mix this year that combines nostalgia, family cosiness, humour and new programmes. Viewers can look forward to fairy tales, legendary Czech films, entertainment programmes, series premieres and more adventurous viewing. In short, an Easter TV line-up that can pleasantly complement the festive atmosphere and turn an ordinary evening in front of the screen into a shared experience.
