The educational programme CME Content Academy, focused on training television creators, is undergoing a major transformation.
After three years in Brno, it is moving to Prague, being shortened to one intensive year and newly established in cooperation with TV Nova and FAMU.
The revised concept targets more experienced applicants and offers them immediate involvement in practical work. Applications will be accepted from 15 July.
The previous two-year programme, in which TV Nova collaborated with the Television Institute in Brno and Slovak TV Markíza, is coming to an end. The collaboration with FAMU is a response to the demand for more flexible study directly in the capital.
‘We need new creators who can not only tell stories, but also understand how television works. CME Content Academy is our long-term project to nurture these talents,’ explained TV Nova CEO Daniel Grunt.
The programme is intended for university graduates in fields such as screenwriting, directing and production. They must be fluent in Czech and have at least a B2 level of English. The courses will be taught by experts from TV Nova and FAMU. According to representatives of the academy, students will be involved in real television projects from day one, including filming, working in the editing room or in writing teams (so-called writers' rooms).
‘I am delighted that FAMU can participate in a project that offers students direct links to the industry while developing their creativity within a professional television environment,’ said Marta Švecová, programme guarantor and lecturer at FAMU.
During their studies, participants will work on their own projects, which they will consult with professionals such as content development director Michal Reitler and documentary filmmaker Erika Hníková. The projects will be subject to final exams. The best graduate project will receive a promise from TV Nova for further development and possible implementation.
Those interested can apply from 15 July to 18 August 2025. The admission process will consist of two rounds. According to the information published, TV Nova will cover 90% of the tuition fees. Students will only pay a fee, which they will get back if they become professionally involved in television projects after their studies.
