TV ÓČKO INCREASED REVENUES LAST YEAR, MADE A SMALL LOSS

The Óčko group of music TV stations increased revenues last year, but made a small loss due to a decline in viewership.

The operator of the music TV group Óčko generated revenues of CZK 141 million last year. This was up 8% year-on-year. It ended the year with a small loss of CZK 1.5m. CZK. This is according to information published in the company's annual report for 2022.

The development of viewership was also a crucial indicator affecting the result in 2022. According to the management of the television station, although its decline has been slowed down, the interest in linear music broadcasting continues to decline. The shift of younger target groups away from TV screens and towards streaming platforms means that Óček's channels will have to switch to other, more expensive programming formats and thus reduce their efficiency.

Despite this, the company has managed to generate a higher volume of revenue from advertising and direct sales. Products based on the use of social networks are gaining ground there. Óčko recorded higher revenues from events and also a higher volume of sales on social networks.

For this year, it expects its viewership to stabilise thanks to the increasing viewership of Óčko Star and further strengthening of acquisition formats in the programming schedule. The company's financial performance will be burdened by the increase in inflation, but thanks to savings it expects a stable development overall.

The operator of music television is the company Stanice O, which includes TV Óčko, Óčko Star, Óčko Expres and Óčko Black. It belongs to the Mafra media group.
