During the Cannes Film Festival, the CMEmedia group unveiled a new centre dedicated to the creation of socially responsible content.

During the Cannes Film Festival, the CME media group officially unveiled a new centre dedicated to the creation of socially responsible content. The project, called the CME Social Impact Centre, is set to operate across the group’s markets in Central and Eastern Europe, including the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Croatia, Romania and Bulgaria.

The new platform was presented by Hana de Goeij, who serves as Group Head of Responsible Content and Social Purpose at CME and also founded the centre.

Through the centre, CME plans to produce and co-produce projects with an emphasis on social impact. In the Czech Republic, the initiative will involve TV Nova; in Slovakia, TV Markíza; in Croatia, RTL Croatia; and in Romania, PRO TV. The group aims to launch the first series and accompanying campaigns next year.

“The CME Social Impact Centre is a logical continuation of our responsible content strategy. We want to contribute to positive social change in our region through powerful stories,” said Hana de Goeij.

The centre has already approved its first two projects. One is a creative documentary series on cervical cancer for Bulgaria’s Voyo and bTV. The other is a mobile series for RTL Croatia focusing on the anxieties of Millennials and Gen Z.
