CHRISTMAS IS AROUND THE CORNER, HOW TO TUNE IN? TOP 7 CHRISTMAS ANIMATED COMEDIES!

21. 12. 2021
Christmas is around the corner, so it's time to tune in to Christmas movies. To make sure they're not just any comedies, Óčko has selected seven of the best animated comedies that have the spirit of Christmas in them.

Grinch

The story is about a green Grinch who hates Christmas and who decides to steal Christmas from people. But even the mischievous and cynical Grinch discovers that not everything has to be bad about Christmas.

THE DEAD BRIDE

Although not exactly a horror movie, some people might be frightened by skeletons. The story is about a young man, Victor, who accidentally marries a dead bride. Thanks to her, he learns that the world of the dead is not as black and white as he thought, yet he longs to come back down to earth to his love Victoria.

STOLEN CHRISTMAS

It's impossible not to mention another hilarious Tim Burton film. He literally loves skeletons, horror atmosphere and morbid scenes in his Christmas movies.  Yet it retains a certain Christmas charm, beautiful animation and unique poetry. Simply beautiful, if dark.

THE BIG CHRISTMAS RIDE

The animated film answers a question that all children are interested in. How is it possible that Santa/Jesus manages to give presents to everyone in one night? The answer is the existence of Santa's base of operations hidden under the North Pole, which is full of merriment and state-of-the-art technology. The film ticks all the boxes of a Christmas classic; a touching mood and an unexpected hero.

SHREK THE HALLS

The makers of the Green Ogre movies have taken advantage of the popularity and made a Christmas edition in addition to the classic films. The film is a shorter version and the story begins before Christmas, with Donkey constantly reminding Shrek of this holiday. Shrek at first refuses to celebrate Christmas, but eventually, at Donkey's insistence, he is forced to promise Fiona a surprise and begins to prepare for Christmas. Since he doesn't know how to celebrate Christmas, he goes to a bookstore where the clerk gives him a book called Christmas for Country People, which gives everything step by step. The entertainment is taken care of, just like the classic movies.

CHRISTMAS CAROL

Who doesn't love the magic of Christmas? There seems to be one person in the world. Ebenezer Scrooge enters the Christmas season with his usual disgust and treats his loyal employee and his jolly nephew with a good deal of contempt. Later that day, Otterhorn meets the ghost of his deceased business associate Joseph Marley, who pays in the afterlife for his earlier callous actions. Marley hopes to help Otterbeard save himself from the same fate and reveals that he will be visited by a trio of ghosts.

POLAR EXPRESS

It's Christmas Eve, the perfect time for an adventure. And it's waiting for you in the form of a journey that twists up and down mountains, slides across icy plains and climbs over dizzyingly high bridges. Welcome aboard the Polar Express, where hot chocolate is served by chatty waiters throughout the journey and adventure awaits in every carriage. Director Robert Zemeckis has created a true Christmas classic with the help of the voice of Tom Hanks. Together they take you into a world of magical animation. "Seeing is believing," says the mysterious rogue who accompanies you on this fantastic journey.
