The Slovenian Golden Drum creativity festival has announced this year’s shortlist. The Czech entries in the finals are from VML, Leo Prague, Dentsu Creative and Zaraguza CZ. Five of their entries have made it onto the shortlist, securing a total of 15 shortlist placements.

VML Czechia has the most shortlist placements. The ‘KitKat Break Billboards’ campaign succeeded across four competition categories: in Out of Home in the Ambient & Experiential category, in Digital, Mobile & Technology for Creative Use of AI/AR, Data / Insight, Metaverse, NFT; in Engagement in the Direct category; in Creative Use of Media in the Print/Outdoor category; and in Activation for Technology-led Activation. The three-part series ‘Sensitive Content Exposed’ is on the shortlist in two categories: in Print in the Print & Publishing category and in Industry Craft for Art Direction.

The entry ‘Change My Mind’ (The Great Patriotic Trip), submitted by Leo Prague, has four shortlist placements across three competition categories. In the Integrated category, it was shortlisted in the Non-profit category; in the Content category, in the Films and PR categories; and in the Engagement category, in the Public & Community Relations category.

The entry ‘Invisible Meals’ (Food the World Has Never Seen – Czech Federation of Food Banks) by Dentsu Creative has secured three shortlist placements. All are in the Motion Craft category, where it has been shortlisted for Direction, Cinematography, and Sound, Design & Adapted Music.

‘Crashed Cans’ (I Don’t Drive on Tin – Škoda Auto) by Zaraguz is on the shortlist in the Integrated category under the Profit group.

In the Young Drummers competition, a further five entries with Czech representation made it onto the shortlist: ‘The Only Visa You Need’ by Petra Charvátová and Matěj Dobiáš from AMI Digital, ‘Designed for Discovery’ by Iryna Bahirova and Vojtěch Vaník from Saatchi & Saatchi Prague, “There’s a bit of Mastercard in every adventure” by Alyssa Johnson and “Seamlessly different” by Olga Ricart from VML Czechia, and “Trip happens” by Gesui Mirzo and Andrea Cabajová from Zaraguza.

The Golden Drum winners will be announced on 13 October in Portorož, Slovenia, and AKA will be there!
