The new television station Prima sport builds on the existing operation of the Sporty TV project and will offer viewers even more live broadcasts. The Prima Group worked closely on its development with Perinvest Group, which had been building the previous channel since 2024. That channel was distributed by České Radiokomunikace, while the new station is being carried in DVB-T2 multiplex 24 by Digital Broadcasting.
As previously reported, the new channel’s programming will primarily consist of live coverage of domestic and international competitions. Football fans will be able to watch matches from the Chance Národní Liga and Poland’s Ekstraklasa, while hockey fans will be offered the Maxa liga. The schedule will also include the domestic floorball Livesport Superliga, the international beach volleyball Beach Pro Tour, as well as Czech and international motor sport. The channel is also working on acquiring additional broadcasting rights.
In addition to the sporting events themselves, Prima sport will also offer original programmes, thematic magazines and industry experts in the studio. Every day, the channel will also feature news and magazine formats Česko živě, Move It! and Sportovní zprávy. The week will conclude with the documentary series Svět sportu: Rok za rokem, charting major sporting events from the past 52 years.
