CNN Prima Newswill broadcast a special election coverage programme on Sunday evening covering the Hungarian parliamentary elections.
CNN Prima News will launch a special broadcast dedicated to the Hungarian parliamentary elections on Sunday 12 April at 7.45 pm. The special programme will run until the last vote has been counted and will offer viewers live updates, analysis and live reports directly from Hungary and neighbouring Slovakia, where three reporting teams will be monitoring the situation.
The election studio will follow the format viewers are accustomed to from Czech elections. The trio of presenters – Terezie Tománková, Petr Suchoň and Petr Převrátil – will conduct interviews with guests, work with interactive graphics and provide ongoing projections of results into parliamentary seats. The aim is to bring the events closer to viewers who do not normally take an interest in foreign politics.
The studio will also welcome figures from Czech politics who have experience dealing with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán. Those who have accepted the invitation include former President Miloš Zeman, former Prime Minister Petr Fiala, his predecessor Petr Nečas, and former Foreign Ministers Jan Lipavský, Cyril Svoboda and Lubomír Zaorálek, who will offer their views on possible scenarios for how events might unfold.
The election itself promises to be a thrilling contest. Long-serving Prime Minister Viktor Orbán will face challenger Péter Magyar, with the result likely to influence not only the direction of Hungary, but also that of the European Union, the Czech Republic and the entire Central European region.
