OMD, INITIATIVE AND MINDSQUARED WERE THE TOP PERFORMERS IN THE NEW BUSINESS SECTOR LAST YEAR

The COMvergence ranking provides an overview of budget shifts and the success of media agencies and media agency networks in tenders on the Czech market in 2025.

Media agencies OMD (Omnicom) and Initiative (Mediabrands) recorded the highest growth in new business last year. The third most successful was Mindsquared (an independent agency). This is according to the new COMvergence report : New Business Barometer 2025. The top five agencies that performed best in new business last year also include Knowlimits (an independent agency) and PHD (Omnicom).

The report assesses the performance of media agencies in the field of new business. The data includes tenders whose results were announced in 2025, taking into account both regional and global tenders, as well as the client budgets that the agencies managed to retain. The ranking therefore does not reflect the strength of agencies and networks based on total client budgets, but on gains and losses over the past year.

From the perspective of agency networks, Omnicom Media gained the most over the past year. Mediabrands jumped to second place, and Publicis Media was the third strongest. In the TOP 5 ranking by new business, there are thus two local agencies that are not owned by a multinational group (Mindsquared, Knowlimits).

Changes in the client portfolio last year were primarily influenced by the five largest tenders. These included the Fast CR tender (Planeo, Sencor), whose budget was won by Mindsquared. The table was also influenced by Reckitt retaining its account, which remained with Initiative. Media agency Carat successfully retained the Vodafone account. Publicis, meanwhile, added Mars to its portfolio, and PHD retained theAmrest/Savencia account.

In terms of financial budgets, agencies within the Omnicom network managed to retain the highest volume, with Publicis Media recording both the highest wins and losses. Following the acquisition of the IPG group by Omnicom at the end of last year, Mediabrands agencies have been part of the Omnicom group since then. However, they are still listed separately in last year’s report.
