CNN Prima NEWS has bet on the advanced AI service of Czech company NEWTON Technologies, which offers advanced artificial intelligence with in-depth knowledge of the Czech language and local context. The deployment took place deliberately in the run-up to the election, when access to information is extremely important for all groups of the population. In addition, CNN Prima NEWS had already established itself some time ago as a major platform for political and election coverage. Viewers were thus able to follow with new subtitles, for example, the speech by President Petr Paul, the most watched TV debate of the year - the Superduel between Andrej Babiš and Petr Fiala - and the weekend's vote count.
The higher accuracy you will see
The Beey AI service delivers a significant improvement over the existing solution. The AI-based system excels not only at transcribing speech itself, but also at identifying speaker changes, which is crucial for news broadcasts with rotating anchors and guests. The advantage of the Czech product is deep expertise in the Czech language, including grammatical specifics, knowledge of names and other entities, and up-to-date vocabulary.
Solutions proven in practice
The system, which is now being used for subtitling CNN Prima NEWS broadcasts, has already proven its quality in AI interpreting of conferences, transcripts of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate of the Czech Republic.
