The RRTV agrees that TV Nova should acquire a 100% stake in O2 TV. This consolidates the sports channels under PPF.
The Radio and Television Broadcasting Council (RRTV) has agreed to the change of ownership of O2 TV. The new 100% owner will be TV Nova from 1 December 2025. The current owner of O2 TV is O2 Czech Republic. Both companies, O2 and TV Nova, belong to the PPF Group.
O2 TV currently holds the broadcasting licences for the sports channels Oneplay Sport and Premier Sport. TV Nova will thus become the direct owner of these sports channels. In addition to its linear channels, Nova Group currently operates the sports pay channels Nova Sport. The transfer of Oneplay Sport and Premier Sport to TV Nova will expand its portfolio of sports channels.
"We want to focus even more on promoting sports broadcasting within Oneplay, our long-term priority. We know that it is one of the main pillars of the service and that users already perceive it with great added value. The buyout of the production company O2 TV will allow us to concentrate the production of sports content and broadcasts," said Daniel Grunt, CEO of TV Nova, when asked.
The consolidation comes after O2 TV and TV Nova introduced the Oneplay service earlier this year, combining the offerings of O2 TV, Nova's linear channels and the former Voyo (now Oneplay) VOD service.
