The FTV Prima Group is set to expand its range of reality shows with the international dating format Are You The One?. The Czech version of the programme is being produced for Prima TV and the prima+ platform, and is currently being filmed in Thailand.
The Prima Group is preparing a Czech version of the global dating reality show Are You The One?. The programme will be broadcast on the Prima TV channel and the prima+ streaming platform . Filming is currently taking place in a luxury villa in Thailand.
The reality show will bring together ten single men and ten women from the Czech Republic and Slovakia, who will live together for several weeks in search of a partner. The format combines dating with psychology and strategic gameplay. Based on expert analysis, each contestant has been matched in advance with a compatible partner, though the participants do not know the other person’s identity. If they manage to correctly identify all the couples, they will win a cash prize.
“We are bringing a dating show to the Czech market that encompasses not only love, but also tension and strategic gameplay. Viewers will see relationships being built and the difficult decisions between what their hearts tell them and what logic advises in the pursuit of a shared prize,” said Alex Ruzek, programme director of the Prima group. Filming is taking place in a luxury villa in Thailand.
Samo Jaško, Director of Reality and Entertainment Content at Prima, says the new show does not want to rely solely on romance. “Our aim is not to film yet another romantic idyll where everyone holds hands at sunset. We are going to Thailand with a clear intention: to show relationships unfiltered,” he said.
The Are You The One? format premiered on MTV in 2014. Since then, eight American series and a number of international adaptations have been produced, for example in Germany, the UK, France and Brazil. The Czech version is being produced under licence from Paramount Global Content Licensing.
“TV Prima and prima+ are the ideal partners for the Czech version of one of MTV’s most iconic dating reality formats,” said Laura Burrell, Vice President of International Formats at Paramount.
