Following last year's launch of Prima SK and Prima Cool SK, the Prima group is preparing another thematic channel for Slovak audiences.
The Prima Group has applied to the Radio and Television Broadcasting Council (RRTV) for a license to broadcast the thematic channel Prima Krimi SK. As with previous Slovak versions, it is applying for a satellite broadcasting license. If the license is granted, it will be another thematic channel of the Prima group specifically designed for Slovakia.
The Prima group began developing its activities on the Slovak market in 2017, when it launched the station Prima Plus, focused on premiering its own productions. Last year, it was renamed to Prima SK. Last May, a Slovak version of the station Prima Cool (Prima Cool SK) was added, aimed primarily at younger and male audiences. In the fall, the Slovak version of the station Prima Love, which focuses primarily on female audiences in the Czech Republic, also expanded its offering. Since 2020, Prima has also been officially broadcasting its multiplatform news channel CNN Prima News in Slovakia.
Prima Krimi SK would follow in the footsteps of its Czech counterpart, which focuses on crime and detective series and documentaries. The group is thus gradually expanding its thematic coverage to the Slovak market through localized versions of its Czech stations.
