A TASTE OF THE WORLD’S CHRISTMAS ADVERTISING

24. 12. 202524. 12. 2025
All over the world, Christmas is spent baking, singing carols, using the Gift-o-mat, as well as building a library or going to visit loved ones.

This year, too, advertisers around the world have prepared Christmas commercials. Some are humorous, others touch on more serious themes like being able to be fully present with loved ones, being able to forgive or just giving a hug. Here is a selection of them.

This year's advert from department store John Lewis & Partners focuses on the relationship between a son and a father. The son's gift of a record CD of Alison Limerick's "Where Love Lives" takes the father back to his youth and proves that the two fall around each other's necks after a long time. The campaign was created by London-based Saatchi & Saatchi.

Barbour has teamed up its Christmas campaign once again with animated duo Wallace & Gromit, who have now enlisted the help of a device called the Gift-o-Mat to help with Christmas presents. The campaign is signed to Aardrman Animations.

In the campaign, Disney is letting a cartoon that was created on a letter to Santa come to life. He then has many Christmas adventures with the artist. The ad was created by London agency Adam&eveDDB and directed by Taika Waititi.

In its Christmas campaign, Spain's Ikea emphasises the importance of being present with loved ones and enjoying moments together. My son wants a bookcase under the tree, not because of the bookcase itself, but because his parents have to help him put it together. The campaign was created by McCann.

Canada's Ikea took on unwanted gifts this Christmas, and no, they didn't just mean an ugly sweater, oversized socks or an ill-fitting jacket. It took on a slightly heavier calibre, like live animals. Created by agency Rethink.

Uber' s Christmas campaign shows a young girl driving home to her father for the holidays. Along the way, she recalls memories of her childhood and adolescence, the beautiful moments and arguments she had with him. The creative was created by the New York agency Mother.

The French mobile operator Orange proves with exaggeration that whatever Christmas brings to your life, it will be there for you. Always, everywhere, in all circumstances. Publicis Conseil is behind the creative.

The doughnut chain Dunkin' is targeting children in particular with its animated "Little Holiday Munchkin" campaign. In addition to the spot, which is backed by Artists Equity, Matt Damon and Ben Affleck's production company, it also includes a book of the same name for the youngest readers.

Also this year, Marks & Spencer is teaming up with actress Dawn French, who magically gets into a truck full of goodies in a traffic jam. And although she doesn't want to share with anyone, it ends up being a very enjoyable party on the motorway.

The carol was made to sing by Apple in its Christmas campaign, with the iPhone 17 falling into the paws of woodland animals. All filmed on a mobile phone. TBWA\Media Arts Lab signed off on the creative.
