The campaign emphasises that the line between criticism and abuse is crucial, and that anonymity on social media does not mean impunity.

The TV Nova group has launched a new wave of its“Hate is not an opinion”campaign, which draws attention to the growing problem of hate speech on social media and its impact on mental health. It is collaborating on the project with the organisations Safezona, Linka bezpečí and Nepanikař.

The campaign, produced by Barletta, is based on a confrontation between the online and offline worlds. In the advert, well-known personalities read real hateful comments that people have sent them on social media, and subsequently invite their authors to a face-to-face meeting. However, none of those invited turned up.

The faces of the campaign include Jiří Langmajer, Sandra Nováková, Martha Issová, Patricie Solaříková, Kateřina Pechová and Dominik Vršanský. The campaign was directed by documentary filmmaker Marie Magdalena Kochová.

According to representatives of TV Nova, the campaign aims to build on the previous successful wave and reopen a topic that concerns not only public figures but also ordinary users. According to experts, hateful comments contribute to anxiety, stress and feelings of isolation, particularly among young people.
