The Prima television group is postponing the launch of its planned new stations Prima Port and Prima Case.
The Prima television group will not launch its two planned new channels, Prima Port and Prima Case, for the time being. It originally wanted to launch Prima Case in the first quarter of the year, but postponed the launch due to global economic uncertainty. It intended to launch Prima Port this year depending on how the market situation develops.
"We are currently monitoring the uncertain economic situation in the world. Based on the second quarter sales results, we will then decide on the launch of two new channels," CEO Marek Singer told MediaGuru.cz.
According to our information, the domestic television market is also affected by a certain degree of uncertainty that entered the financial markets after Donald Trump took office as US president in the last third of January this year. Television advertisers are therefore more cautious this year compared to the same period last year, which is reflected in lower volumes of television advertising on domestic commercial stations.
Since last year, Prima has held licenses for the channels Prima Case and Prima Port. The former will focus on crime and target men under 55. It will thus complement the existing Prima Krimi in the portfolio. According to earlier information, it will bring foreign films, series, and possibly even reality shows with the aim of appealing to a female audience in the target group of up to 55 years of age.
