The Nova Group will change its Nova Gold station to Nova Krimi in November. The channel will offer a line-up of classic detective series.
The Nova Group will change the look of its existing station Nova Gold, which will be renamed Nova Krimi from November. The channel will get a new name, visual style and a clearly defined identity. The change responds to the success of crime series, which are among the most sought-after shows in the current programming line-up, the group explained.
According to TV Nova CEO Daniel Grunt, the aim is to create brands with a clear identity and a strong relationship with viewers. "Nova Krimi is a natural response to the growing demand for proven content on linear channels that our viewers enjoy," he said.
Programme director Silvia Majeská promises a rich offering of classic detective series this autumn. For example, viewers will see Columbo, Kriminálka Las Vegasw, Inspektor George Gently, Dr. House, Můj přítel Monk, Mentalista, Myšlenky zločince, Médium or Zákon a pořádek: Útvar pro zvláštní oběti. "The station will offer exactly what fans of the genre expect - suspense, logical unraveling of cases and distinctive detective characters," Majeska said.
The transition will take place automatically, with the Nova Gold station being renamed Nova Krimi in November, with no further adjustments required from users.
The visual identity of Nova Krimi is yet to be revealed by Nova.
Rival group Prima has the Prima Krimi channel in its portfolio. It launched it in 2018 and is currently one of the group's most successful thematic channels. Its viewership share was 4.4% last week (15 , source: ATO-Nielsen), making it the group's second most successful channel after the main TV Prima.
