A LOVE STORY THAT CONTINUES: PRIMA LOVE HAS BEEN SPREADING LOVE ON SCREENS FOR FIFTEEN YEARS

For fifteen years, Prima LOVE has been bringing stories full of love, relationships and emotions to the screen. The popular channel for women will celebrate its birthday on International Women's Day and, on this occasion, will offer new series and another edition of the popular DERMACOL LOVE DAY event.

The most romantic television channel in Czechia, Prima LOVE, is experiencing the most significant milestone in its adolescence. On Sunday, 8 March, International Women's Day, it will celebrate its fifteenth birthday. Throughout the year, it brings viewers not only popular romantic classics, such as films based on stories by Rosamunde Pilcher or the series with a touch of drama Mountain Rescue, but also new foreign series, including premiere romantic films. After the triumph of globally successful Turkish soap operas, Prima LOVE will present viewers with a new Turkish series called Whatever Happens (Kendi Düşen Ağlamaz) this spring. And because love brings people together, Prima LOVE will celebrate its birthday again this year at the now traditional DERMACOL LOVE DAY event, which will take place on 1 May in Grébovka, Prague.

"Prima LOVE has now reached adulthood and has grown into a truly stable channel that is popular with viewers across all target groups. Over the past year, we have brought globally successful foreign series to the airwaves, primarily from Turkish production, which are very popular with viewers. In addition, the romantic summer evening series Osudové léto v... (Fateful Summer in...) also worked very well. This spring, we are coming up with something new, again from Turkey, and after titles such as Za hlasem srdce (Following My Heart), Mé lepší já (My Better Self) and Past na lásku (Love Trap), we will present the romantic telenovela Ať se stane cokoli (Whatever Happens), which we will launch in May this year, the month of love. It will be available in advance on the prima+ platform," reveals Alex Ruzek, programme director of the Prima group.

The channel's popularity among Czech women is confirmed by its viewing figures. Over the last twelve months, it has achieved a 2.81% share in the target group of women aged 15 and over throughout the day. The most watched programmes were romantic stories by Rosamunde Pilcher and the German adventure drama series Mountain Rescue.

Prima LOVE is Prima's third channel, having begun broadcasting on 8 March 2011. The name LOVE is an acronym created from the initials of the words: Love, Fates, Relationships, Emotions. These words perfectly characterise the channel's content, which is aimed at all women who want to enjoy watching the best series, programmes and films at times that are most convenient for them. Viewers can also find the most popular programmes, including series and romantic films, in advance on prima+.

DERMACOL LOVE DAY 2026

This year, Prima LOVE will once again celebrate its birthday at the popular eighth annual DERMACOL LOVE DAY event, which will take place on 1 May, as usual. Prague's Grébovka Park will once again be transformed into the most romantic space with lots of activities in the spirit of love, beauty and entertainment. There will be two stages featuring performances by Tereza Mašková, Xindl X, O5 a Radeček, Brixtn and others. Visitors will be able to enjoy a day full of pampering accompanied by their loved ones and even their little ones. Of course, they can look forward to seeing familiar faces from Prima TV, led by presenters Eva Hecko Perkausová and Roman Šebrle. There will also be an autograph session with the stars of various TV Prima programmes. For more information about the event, visit www.dermacolloveday.cz.
