What you will find in the article:

  • O2 has renamed the Oneplay tariff to Oneplay Mini for greater clarity.
  • The service offers more than 50 TV channels and a limited video library.
  • Customers must actively use the service, otherwise it will be deactivated.
  • The name change was in response to customer feedback.
  • Oneplay Mini is a free tariff for O2 fixed-line internet customers.
The operator O2 has renamed its free TV package for fixed-line internet customers from ‘Oneplay’ to ‘Oneplay Mini’. The content of the service remains unchanged; it continues to offer more than 50 TV channels and limited access to the video library. However, according to O2, the new name is intended to distinguish the free option more clearly from the paid Oneplay packages.

On 5 October, O2 renamed the ‘Oneplay with Internet’ package to ‘Oneplay Mini’. Customers with a fixed-line internet connection from O2 receive this package free of charge as a bonus. However, they must use the service, otherwise it will be cancelled. Reactivation is then required.

The operator decided to change the name based on customer feedback. According to O2, the name ‘Oneplay for the Internet’ sometimes led customers to expect a broader range of Oneplay services. The content of the tariff remains unchanged following the renaming. Oneplay Mini offers more than 50 TV channels and five titles from the video library per month, though it does not include programmes from the Oneplay Originals series. The channels include, for example, Nova, Prima, ČT1, ČT sport and TN Live.

Existing customers do not need to take any action as a result of the change. Each customer is entitled to one Oneplay Mini tariff, regardless of how many internet connections they have with O2. If a customer does not use the service for a month, the operator will deactivate it, but the customer retains their entitlement to it. They can then reactivate the service at any time. In addition to the free Mini package, Oneplay also offers four paid packages: Komfort, Extra Zábava, Extra Sport and Maximum.

The Oneplay service was launched on 10 March last year through the merger of O2 TV and the Voyo video library, which is part of the PPF Group. At that time, the Oneplay Internet tariff replaced the previous O2 TV Modrá tariff. When the service was launched, it offered 42 TV channels and five titles from the video library per month. The transfer of around 870,000 O2 TV customers to the new service was expected to take approximately three months. The current Oneplay Mini package includes more than 50 channels.
