CNN PRIMA NEWS IS CLOSE TO REACHING THE 3% SHARE MARK AFTER SIX YEARS

CNN Prima News’s share of the television market is increasing year on year and is approaching the three per cent mark this year.

The news channel CNN Prima News has maintained its growth trajectory after six years on the market, its parent company FTV Prima announced to mark the channel’s sixth anniversary. This year, its all-day audience share stands at 2.73% in the 15+ target group and 2% in the 18–69 commercial group (source: ATO). Over the past year, it has improved by 0.64 percentage points year-on-year, representing year-on-year growth of more than thirty per cent, the highest in the TV market.

The combination of television broadcasting, the website and social media has enabled the channel to reach an average of almost eight million users per month over the past year, FTV Prima added.

The station’s anniversary was accompanied by the Money Money Money conference, at which journalist Christiane Amanpour was among the speakers. Her interview with President Petr Pavel was also broadcast by CNN International.

The station has long relied on a combination of regular programmes and special broadcasts. According to the data, Terezie Tománková’s discussion programme ‘Partie’ reaches more than a million viewers a week.

The strongest reach over the past year was recorded by CNN Prima News’ pre-election and election coverage. The prime ministerial candidates’ super-duel reached more than five million viewers across all platforms (television, online, social media), whilst the election coverage reached almost 6.7 million. The channel also achieved significant reach with its coverage of the parliamentary elections in Hungary.

The CNNPrima.cz website recorded over 28 million page views in April this year, with nearly three million unique users per month.

On social media, CNN Prima News has over 500,000 followers on Facebook, over 260,000 followers on Instagram, and its YouTube channel has over 240,000 subscribers. The autumn elections proved a successful period, significantly increasing the reach of the profiles. During September and October, key social media platforms reached more than 300 million views per month.

Content distribution across all platforms remains a key strategy for the further development of the CNN Prima News project, added the Prima Group.
