The Nova television group will be revamping its prime-time linear programming in May, both on weekdays and at weekends.
From May, Nova will be introducing a number of programming changes on its main channel. These will primarily affect prime time on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
From Thursday 30 April, Nova will begin rerunning its hit series Policie Modrava, which will air on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 8.20 pm. It will replace the current series Bratři a sestry, which will air for the last time on Tuesday 28 April. Nova had already announced the end of the series before the end of last year. The reruns of Policie Modrava will thus compete with the series Polabí on rival TV Prima, which has been successful in its time slots.
Another change is coming on Sundays, when Nova will move its series Jitřní záře to linear broadcasting; the series was originally created for the then-Voyo (now Oneplay). It will air for the first time on Sunday 3 May at 8.20 pm, going head-to-head with the rival programme Asia Express (Prima).
Jitřní záře, the launch of which Nova has already announced, is a six-part miniseries from 2022, inspired by real events. It tells the story of a couple who decide to live off the grid in isolation. After the birth of their daughter, whom they name Jitřní záře, and due to their alternative parenting style without official documents, the authorities take the child away from them. The series was directed by Dan Wlodarczyk, with Petra Bučková and Jan Plouhar in the lead roles.
Monday evenings in May on TV Nova will continue to feature the series Odznak Vysočina (and later Specialisté), Wednesdays will be for Extrémní proměny and Survivor, and Saturdays for Superlov.
