The travel reality show Asia Express has officially introduced the contestants for its premiere season. Among others, it will feature familiar faces from the reality show Zrádci, Nicole Šáchová and Jan Tuna.

Nine pairs of contestants will compete in the new travel reality show Asia Express. Among them are some well-known names. For example, world champion kayaker Vavřinec Hradilek and presenter and journalist Jan Tuna will take part in the competition. He will be paired with Nicole Šáchová, winner of the first series of Zrádci. Following Zrádci, he is now joining another flagship reality show on Prima TV. The show is presented by Jakub Štáfek and Václav Matějovský.

The principle of the competition is for the competing pairs to get from point A to point B in Southeast Asia with a minimal budget and without modern technology. Participants can expect challenging tasks, extreme conditions and pressure to cooperate in the unfamiliar environment of Laos, Cambodia and Thailand. Prima expects that the format, thanks to its combination of adventure, emotion and authentic situations, will be one of the main new programmes of this season on both the linear channel and the prima+ streaming service.

At a press conference on Wednesday, stylishly held in Prague's Sapa, Prima introduced the competing pairs for the premiere series. They are: Vavřinec Hradilek and Tomáš Slavík, brothers Roman (personal trainer) and Miloš (entrepreneur), twins actress Sandra and lifestyle editor Viola, professional dancer, choreographer and influencer Icy and dancer Ester, former couple Petra and Filip, couple from Toužim Iva and Jirka, stuntwomen Hana and Míša Dvorská (mother and daughter), and a mother and son who lost contact over time and want to rediscover it in the competition. Jan Tuna and Nicole Šáchová were introduced as the ninth couple.

The two met in the first series of Zrádci (Traitors), with Tuna on the side of the "loyal" and Šáchová as a "traitor". He found it difficult to cope with the way she manipulated him in the reality show. Now they see their participation in Asia Express as "couples therapy". They are friends and enemies at the same time, but they have decided to pull together and go for the win. "The principle of the competition is to be a well-coordinated pair, and we haven't been completely coordinated until now. So it may be a bigger challenge for us than for others. But we already showed at the castle that we can work together, and we want to build on that," says Nicole.

Samo Jaško, director of reality and entertainment at Prima, described the show as dramatic and entertaining and "one of the most interesting he has been involved in over the last 20 years".

The reality show Asia Express starts on 22 February on prima+ and on 1 March on TV Prima. It was produced by Friends Studio and directed by Michal Varga.
