The prima+ streaming platform will celebrate its third anniversary in February this year. According to Lukáš Kubát, CEO of the Prima Group, it currently has over 600,000 active users per month, of which over 300,000 are paying subscribers. Since its launch, viewers have watched more than 170 million hours of content on the platform.
prima+ offers over two thousand premium programmes. Among paying users, the most watched titles include Zrádci, Naked Attraction CZ & SK, Ano, šéfe!, Farma Vojty Kotka and the film Kouzlo derby. Among users of the free version, the most successful titles include Ano, šéfe!, Zrádci, Kamarádi, ZOO Nové začátky and Polabí. "Our goal is for viewers to associate prima+ with premium Czech content that can hold its own in a highly competitive environment," Kubát said of the plans.
According to him, the group wants to appeal to both traditional television audiences and viewers who are looking for a broader and more diverse range of content. "We strive to bring local formats with local personalities; we are not just an archive of television programmes. Prima is expanding its content into the online world thanks to prima+," he said.
News for 2026
Plans for the first half of 2026 were presented by Jan Maxa, Director of Content and Production. The platform will offer additional titles in preview mode, i.e. ahead of television broadcasts. These will include, for example, the second series of Pod hladinou and the new series Zrození alchymistky.
In the true crime genre, prima+ will present the programmes Ve službě: Hlídka, focusing on the work of police patrols in the big city at night, and Minuty zločinu, which will present significant criminal cases through the eyes of TV Prima news editors.
The offer also includes "television programmes" with a several-day preview online. These are the programmes Show Jana Krause, Inkognito, Polabí, Kamarádi, Partička and Prostřeno. A new addition will be the talk show U Adély.
Ambitions in film and original programming
prima+ also wants to strengthen its film offering with the ambition of showing one premiere per month. Titles such as Dream Team, Nepela, Milion and Když se zhasne are planned.
A key part of the strategy is prima+ Originals, premium drama series primarily intended for the online platform. In the first half of the year, a crime series set in the GIIBS environment, Inspekce, will arrive , starring Vojtěch Dyk, Kristýna Ryška and Martin Finger in the leading roles. A six-part series, Táta, starring David Novotný, is also in preparation, inspired by the true story of a man who comes into conflict with the judicial system.
Reality and entertainment
In the area of reality shows, prima+ is preparing a new dating show. Its name has not yet been announced. The third series of Zrádci (Traitors) is also in preparation. Starting in March, the platform will launch the reality show Asia Express. prima+ wants to focus more strongly on reality shows. "Reality and entertainment formats will be a key segment of prima+'s further development in the coming period," said Samo Jaško, head of reality and entertainment at the Prima group.
"The prima+ platform is gradually attracting the cream of the Czech audiovisual industry – award-winning creators across all fields, from actors to top creative and production teams," added Jan Maxa, director of the Prima Group's Content and Production Division.
prima+ also has offerings for children's audiences (Paw Patrol, Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness, The Penguins of Madagascar, Barbie Dreamtopia, Hot Wheels City and new titles from the world of Lego).
