Prima TV is preparing a new travel reality show. Casting is now underway, inviting brave couples to participate.
The Prima television group is preparing a new travel reality show that will take contestants on a journey thousands of kilometers across the world. The show, which emphasizes adventure and travel, is currently looking for pairs. Casting has just started. Filming is planned for late fall/early winter 2025, with production by Good TV.
"Do you want to experience the greatest adventure of your life? Embark on a journey of thousands of kilometers with only a backpack and a healthy dose of enthusiasm and courage? Find a partner and test your trust, endurance, and ability to survive with the bare minimum," reads the call from the Prima group. However, Prima has not yet released any further details about the format or planned broadcast.
One of the most famous travel reality shows is the American series The Amazing Race, in which pairs of contestants race around the world, completing tasks and trying to reach the finish line first. The show was first broadcast on CBS in 2001 and has won numerous awards, including 15 Emmys. The American version of the show was also broadcast on Czech television.
The British production Race Across the World has also attracted strong viewer interest, scoring high ratings on the BBC thanks to its more authentic approach to travel. Contestants are not allowed to use air travel and must complete a demanding route with only a budget equivalent to the cost of a regular plane ticket. The emphasis here is on interpersonal relationships, the ability to adapt and learn about other cultures without the filter of luxury and comfort.
Travel docuseries and documentaries are widespread on Czech television (especially on Czech Television), but travel reality shows such as The Amazing Race have not yet been adapted in the Czech Republic.
