The PPF Group has announced an increase in operating profit for media company CME in 2024 and the appointment of Jiří Šmejc's successor at the helm of the group.
Despite massive investments in the Oneplay platform, the CME media group reported a 5.5% increase in OIBDA operating profit in 2024 compared to 2023. This was announced on Tuesday announced by parent company PPF, which reported its financial results for last year.
It said that PPF achieved a net profit of €3.2 billion last year, the best financial result in its nearly 35-year history.
At the same time, it announced that Jiří Šmejc's three-year term as CEO of PPF, agreed in 2022, will end in June. The new co-CEOs will be Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Kateřina Jirásková and Chief Investment Officer (CIO) Didier Stoessel, who will take over the executive management of the PPF Group.
Kateřina Jirásková has held various positions at PPF since 2000. Didier Stoessel has been with PPF since 2020. Until recently, he was CEO of the CME Group.
