EFFIE IS OPENING APPLICATIONS

Effie, the biggest domestic advertising and marketing effectiveness competition, is now open for entries.

The Effie Advertising and Marketing Effectiveness Competition, organised annually by the Association of Communication Agencies (AKA), is opening applications for its 26th edition. Interested applicants can submit entries for all categories from 28 June to 18 August.

This year, Effie will offer a novelty in the form of the Prima Video Awards. "The internet and the digitalisation of the economy have brought a huge range of communication tools. This is logically reflected in the Effie. This is connected with the expansion of new categories and awards and, last but not least, the streamlining of the evaluation method," explains Kateřina Hrubešová, Executive Director of AKA.

Overall, the competition will focus mainly on digital communication in its many forms. "Its importance in marketing is growing and Effie reflects this. However, Effie of course continues to provide space for full-format campaigns, but also campaigns in the field of PR, content marketing, etc.," comments Ondřej Novák, ASMEA Director.

The emphasis on digital communication was already evident last year with the new Digital Marketing category and the Prize for the most effective use of YouTube, which will be awarded by the main partner, Czech Google, this year as well. "YouTube reaches more than seven million adults in the Czech Republic every month, making it a very popular platform for sharing videos of any length. We appreciate the creativity and original ideas that brands are constantly coming up with and look forward to seeing what entrants come up with this year," says Marie Krátká from Google.

In cooperation with Prima Group, the Prima Video Awards will also be newly announced this year. "We're excited to take our partnership with Effie one step further this year and recognize original video content concepts regardless of format, length or placement on a given platform. In short, we will award the Prima Video Awards to the most effective and innovative campaign in premium video content," explains Marek Singer, CEO of the Prima Group.

An independent jury composed of representatives of commissioning bodies, communication agencies, media agencies, research agencies (members of the SIMAR association), representatives of professional media and representatives of Google and the Prima Group decide who will receive the Effie Award. This year, the jury will again choose from sixteen categories. The sponsor of the PR category is APRA. The partner of the research part is the association of research agencies SIMAR. Other Effie partners are Ipsos and Behavio Labs.

The winners will be announced on 14 November at Kino Lucerna. The evening will be hosted by Marek Hlavica, former director of AKA and current director of APRA.
