A new addition will be the comedy series Zde žijí duchové, in which a young married couple inherit the crumbling Bukvice Castle. The series Krev straddles the line between true crime and family drama. The six-part series is based on the books by Plzeň criminal investigator František Müller, entitled Skutečné zločiny na Plzeňsku (Real Crimes in the Plzeň Region). The elite detective faces cases which, by their very nature, have gone down in the history of Czech crime. It is being developed for Oneplay by producer David Ondříček’s team.
The most ambitious Oneplay Original to date will be Kafka. In it, viewers will be transported to the nascent society of 1908 to follow the young Kafka in a fictional story, written by Czech Lion award-winning screenwriter Jakub Režný, in which he must very quickly prove his innocence. The six-part miniseries will not reflect real events, but a fictional plot in which Kafka is accused of murder and must clear his name.
The documentary Leoš, about Leoš Mareš, has already been filmed to mark his 50th birthday. The three-part documentary promises to offer a powerful account of the well-known presenter’s life. It is not a mere profile, but an intimate look at his personality.
