TV PROVIDERS ARE OFFERING SUMMER DISCOUNTS. TRIAL PLANS AND LIMITED-TIME VIDEO LIBRARIES HAVE ALSO BEEN ADDED

Telly has reduced the price of its ‘Velký’ package, O2 has added a seven-day trial of Oneplay, and Magenta TV has launched its ‘Summer Cinema’ service. Our overview sets out the prices, programme line-ups and terms and conditions of each service.

Over the summer, domestic pay-TV providers are primarily adjusting introductory prices and additional benefits. Some services have introduced short-term trial plans. Others are attracting customers with linked video libraries, support for multiple devices or discounts during the first few months.

The following overview covers offers for new customers, unless otherwise stated. Basic offers are referred to as ‘tariffs’, whilst extended offers are referred to as ‘packages’.

Vodafone has adjusted the prices of some tariffs

From 18 July, Vodafone has changed the prices of some of its TV offers. To qualify for the discounted price, you must now be enrolled in the Giga Kombo programme. The introductory discount for the first six months has also been retained for customers who take out a TV subscription without any other services from the operator.

The price of the Cinema package has risen to 240 koruna per month. The price of the top-tier AllinONE package has also changed. Under the Giga Kombo scheme, it starts at 666 korunas, rising to 694 korunas from the seventh month onwards. Without additional Vodafone services, it costs 951 korunas initially and 992 korunas per month thereafter.



For example, the Lite & Sport tariff does not include the Seznam.cz TV HD and TV Barrandov channels. Film Europe HD, AMC HD and AXN HD are not part of the Cinema film package, but are included in the Family package.

All packages, with the exception of Lite & Sport, include the music channels Deluxe Music, Deluxe Dance and Deluxe Rap. Vodafone has also revamped its programme guide. It now lists the film libraries, sports leagues and other competitions available.

O2 has added a seven-day Oneplay trial

The prices of the four main Oneplay tariffs have not changed. A free seven-day trial has now been added to O2’s public offer. The scope of the service varies depending on whether the customer subscribes directly via Oneplay or through the O2 operator.

Outside the public price list, there is the Oneplay Sport Mini tariff for 449 crowns a month. According to information obtained by our editorial team, some former customers of the O2 TV Sport Premium tariff have been transferred to this plan. The tariff cannot normally be ordered or extended with additional packages.

O2 also offers combinations of individual plans with an HBO Max Standard subscription.



The number of Oneplay channels also includes Krb, Afrika and Akvárium. The direct Oneplay offering also features themed streams from the Oneplay Special section. The trial tariff includes one such stream, the Komfort and Extra Zábava tariffs include two, and higher-tier tariffs include five.

The service also includes the FilmBox One, Emotion, Comedy, Hits and Love & Crime channels.

Magenta TV has added a temporary Summer Cinema

T-Mobile is offering six Magenta TV packages over the summer. The top-tier package is available in three versions, which differ in terms of the streaming service included. Netflix, Disney or HBO Max are included in the price of 449 korunas per month for the first six months.

For the included services, you can upgrade to a higher subscription tier for an additional fee. Each TV package works on up to six devices, two of which can be the operator’s set-top boxes.



The Music Box Hits music channel is available from the M Plus package onwards. The L Plus and XL Plus packages add Music Box Dance, Classic and Sexy. The basic S Plus package includes FilmBox One, Comedy and Love & Crime; from the M Plus package onwards, Emotion and Hits are added.

All tariffs include access to the temporary ‘Summer Cinema’ video library until 31 August. Customers on the M Plus tariff or higher can also continue to activate the Canal Premier League sports package free of charge via the ‘My T-Mobile’ self-service portal.

SledováníTV is trialling its top tariff for one koruna

SledováníTV has started offering a ten-day trial tariff called ‘The Best of SledováníTV’. In terms of scope, it matches the top-tier XL offer, including HBO Max, 900 hours of recordings and support for four devices. Once the trial period ends, the service will automatically switch the customer to the M tariff.

At the end of July, the current form of access to the prima service will also end across all tariffs.



The figures quoted also include streams from Brno Zoo, the Cat Café, Krb and other similar channels. The FilmBox One channel is available from the M tariff onwards. The L package adds Comedy and Love & Crime, whilst the XL package also includes Hits and Emotion.

Neither Music Box nor Deluxe Music are available on SledováníTV.

Pecka.TV has left its package unchanged

Pecka.TV did not change the prices or the line-up of its six packages over the summer. The three basic packages are complemented by three family options, which differ primarily in the number of devices allowed.

The top-tier ‘Pro šest’ package costs 599 korunas a month. As well as supporting six devices, it includes a feature to automatically skip adverts on Prima Group programmes.



The package does not include the FilmBox film channels or the Music Box and Deluxe music channels. Pecka.TV, on the other hand, includes a larger number of foreign programmes from various European countries, as well as channels broadcasting Formula 1 races.

Lepší.TV has reduced the price for the first month

GoNet is offering new customers a ten-day trial of Lepší.TV for ten crowns. Once the trial ends, the first month of the Mini, Klasik or Top tariff is available at a reduced rate. After that, the standard price applies.

For an additional fee, the service can be streamed simultaneously on three devices, or you can purchase the option to skip adverts on Prima Group programmes.



The programme line-up has been expanded to include five adult pay-TV channels: Brazzers TV Europe, Desire, Reality Kings TV, BangU and Men.TV.

FilmBox One is included in all packages. The Klasik package adds the Hits, Comedy and Love & Crime channels. According to the operator’s summary data, the FilmBox Emotion channel is also included in the Lepší.TV offering.

All packages include the basic Music Box channel. The Mini package also includes Vantage Dance and Vantage Music, whilst the Klasik package and above add Vantage Classic and Vantage Rock.

Telly is offering its ‘Velký’ package for three months at the price of the basic

As part of its summer promotion, Telly has standardised the price of its three basic packages at 270 crowns per month. For the Střední and Velký packages, this rate applies for the first three months. After that, the Střední package increases to 480 crowns and the Velký package to 690 crowns.

The promotional price for the ‘Large’ package represents a discount of approximately 61 per cent compared to its standard price. The offer includes HBO and Cinemax channels for the entire duration of the contract. Customers will receive free access to HBO Max for one month.

The operator is also including a 250-koruna voucher for the Foodora service and an annual subscription to iDNES Premium.

Telly satellite packages



Telly internet packages



Telly does not include FilmBox in either its satellite or internet packages, and music channels are not particularly well represented either. The ‘Velký’ satellite package, for example, includes AMC HD and the CS Film and CS Horror channels in standard definition.

The sports section of the package is stronger. It includes six Nova Sport channels, three Premier Sport channels and the pairs Eurosport 1 and 2, and Sport 1 and 2.

In the online version, the ‘Small’ package includes, for example, Warner TV HD. The ‘Medium’ and ‘Large’ packages add three AXN channels in standard definition. The ‘Maxi’ package expands the offering to include content from the Warner Bros. Discovery group, six Nova Sport channels, three Premier Sport channels and the two Eurosport, Sport and Arena Sport channels. The sports channels listed are available in high definition in the ‘Maxi’ package.

Skylink and FreeSat maintain their prices

Canal Luxembourg operates the Skylink and FreeSat satellite services in the Czech Republic, as well as the Skylink Live TV internet television service and the standalone Canal streaming service.

Since the last comparison, Skylink has reduced the number of channels in its cheapest ‘Mini’ package by one. The line-up of the other packages and their prices have remained unchanged.

The Mini and Smart packages include FilmBox One and Love & Crime. The Multi package adds the Emotion channel, whilst the full set of five FilmBox channels is available from the Kombi package onwards.

The range of music channels includes, amongst others, the four Óčko channels, MTV Europe CZ and the three Šláger channels. However, three of the four Óčko group channels are only available via the Skylink Live TV internet service.

freeSAT has updated the FilmBox channel logos, but the packages, prices and number of channels themselves have not changed. The channel line-up largely matches that of Skylink.

FreeSat satellite television

Skylink Live TV has slightly expanded its programme offering

The number of channels available on the standalone Skylink Live TV internet TV service has increased slightly. The ‘Kombi HBO’ package has been removed from the main tariff overview, although the operator continues to list it in the programme guide.

The range of FilmBox channels corresponds to Skylink’s satellite offering. Conversely, three Šláger programmes have been removed from the music section.



In addition, Skylink offers three packages labelled as streaming services. Two of these are discounted for the first three months.



The summer offers show that operators are now competing mainly on the price of the first few months, the video libraries included, and the number of devices supported. The actual programme line-up is changing only to a limited extent. A more significant development could be the forthcoming Prima Sport channel, which the Prima Group plans to unveil on 6 August at a press conference announcing its autumn schedule.
