Oneplay Sport will kick off the new Chance League season from its new studio and production facilities at Stages Hotel Prague. The 700-square-metre multifunctional space combines a television studio, newsroom and broadcast centre and, according to the operator, is one of the largest investment projects in the sports channel’s history.
The new studio will be unveiled in full for the first time at the weekend of 25 and 26 July during the opening round of the Chance League. The new facilities will be used to broadcast not only football programmes but also content focusing on the Tipsport Extraliga ice hockey league and other sporting competitions. Original formats will also be produced here, including the football talk show Tiki-Taka.
The studio’s centrepiece is a 13 × 3-metre Leyard Planar panoramic LED wall with almost 16 million pixels. The technology is complemented by virtual projections, robotic cameras and extensive data and video infrastructure. The space also includes an auditorium with a capacity of up to 80 spectators, which will allow the audience to participate in selected programmes.
“We’ve been through a very challenging period, during which we moved the entire editorial team from the O2 Arena and built a completely new facility for them,” said Marek Kindernay, Head of Oneplay Sport. According to him, the new environment will enable the channel to make greater use of statistical data, virtual graphics and audience participation directly in the studio.
Preparations for the project took two years, with the construction itself taking a further six months. The following companies were involved in the project: Centron Slovakia as the TV technology integrator, MTMCO as the project and construction contractor, AV Media as the LED wall supplier, Virtuality.one for the virtual projection solution, and LightNeq for the LED lighting.
Chance Liga to feature in the schedule all week
Alongside its new studio, Oneplay Sport is also expanding its coverage of the top Czech football league. Even before the league kicks off, the channel will premiere the documentary *Mezi střídačkami* (*Between the Benches*), a new programme called *Fantasy Chance Liga*, and a live broadcast of the *Liga Opening* gala evening organised by the League Football Association.
“For the first time, we’ve managed to put together a schedule so that the Chance Liga has a firm place on Oneplay Sport practically all week long. We don’t want to focus solely on the matches, but also on the wider context of the competition, its stories, tactics and statistics,” said David Sobišek, editor-in-chief of Oneplay Sport’s football editorial team.
Thursday’s programme will feature the ‘Footcast’ programme with data analysis of the first round; Friday will be dedicated to the ‘Chance Liga Kickoff’ programme; and the weekend’s matches will be complemented by highlights in the ‘Chance Liga Highlights’ programme. Monday evenings will remain reserved for the ‘Tiki-Taka’ programme.
All Chance Liga matches will be available on Oneplay Sport in the new season. When matches are played simultaneously, the channel will also offer multi-match coverage via Oneplay Sport 4. The documentary series *Kult Liga* and *Klub legend* will also remain part of the schedule.
