The first Czech-Slovak series of Naked Attraction has become one of the most talked-about television projects of recent months. The nude dating show has sparked a public debate on physicality, relationships and naturalness, and has received a positive response from both viewers and the media. Praise has also come from the holder of the global licence. ÓČKO TV is already preparing the second series. Tonight, the channel will symbolically bring the first series to a close, with the sequel set to air this autumn.
“ÓČKO has done an excellent job of bringing the international hit Naked Attraction to Czech and Slovak audiences. The enthusiasm and energy of the whole team are clearly evident in the production, and we look forward to presenting this adaptation to other countries,” said Ben Packwood, CEE Sales Manager at All3Media.
What’s more, the programme *Naked Attraction* has proved its worth not only as a television format but also as a genuine dating service. “Of the twenty TV dates, fourteen were successful; half of these couples went on to meet again and build a relationship, and one of them even got engaged,” revealed ÓČKO’s Programme Director, Alexandr Guha. “When we presented these figures to the British licence consultant, she described them as an extraordinary success even by international standards,” he added.
Viewing figures also show that the programme was not merely provocative entertainment for a narrow audience. It was watched to an above-average extent by young people, university-educated viewers and those from economically better-off households.
It also sparked a strong response in the public sphere. Zuzana from the podcast Vyhonit ďábla praised the fact that “the bodies on Naked Attraction are more diverse than those we see on Instagram”. Qult editor Tomáš Plocek added that the programme “helps to normalise the different bodies, shapes and imperfections that each of us has”. Hana Trojanová from Poprask described Naked Attraction as a unique feel-good programme, whilst YouTuber MenT summed it up by saying: “It’s a programme where people who like to get naked can find other people who like to get naked, which is absolutely fine”.
The contestants themselves also speak positively about their time on the programme. For example, Roman (27) described it as “very enriching”, Braňo (42) spoke of “an amazing atmosphere and lovely people”, and Martina (32) added: “It was a brilliant experience standing in that box”.
The first series of the nude dating show will symbolically come to a close on Wednesday 1 July at 10.00 pm, when ÓČKO will broadcast a special ‘Best Of’ episode featuring the most memorable moments of the entire series. Ahead of that, it will air ‘Naked Warm Up’, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the filming and the topics that resonated most during the first series.
Over the summer, ÓČKO’s programming will be all about music and that summer vibe. Thursday evenings will feature the ‘Do plavek’ playlist, whilst Saturday’s ‘Naked’ marathons will be replaced by ‘Summer Hits’ and ‘Party Ride’. “We’ll get dressed for the summer so we can take our clothes off again in the autumn,” said presenter Monika Timková with a smile.
Naked Attraction will return in the autumn with its second series. Viewers can look forward to a new studio, new contestants and, according to the ongoing casting process, the greatest interest yet from women who have decided to seek love without masks – and without clothes.
