8. 5. 20258. 5. 2025
Domestic television stations are changing their scheduled programmes to include shows featuring Jiří Bartoška over the next few days.

In connection with the death of actor and Karlovy Vary Film Festival president Jiří Bartoška, Česká televize is changing its Thursday evening programme on its main channel ČT1.

A portrait of Jiří Bartoška directed by David Ondříček will now be shown at 20:15. This will be followed at 20:30 by the film Je třeba zabít Sekala, in which Bartoška plays Father Flora, who becomes a hired killer against his will.

The film Želary, originally scheduled for 20:15, has been cancelled from Thursday's ČT1 broadcast.

Further changes will be made to ČT1 on Friday, 9 May. As a tribute to Jiří Bartoška, Všechnopárty, featuring Bartoška, will be broadcast at 21:40, followed by the comedy film Teorie tygra at 22:25. In the film, Bartoška plays a veterinarian who wants to live ‘his own way.’

The aforementioned programmes featuring Jiří Bartoška will be replaced by Všechnopárty, the series Hercule Poirot: Outsider and the show Z Televarieté.

On Friday, 9 May, at 21:40, ČT2 will broadcast the 2010 film Sráči. Jiří Bartoška and Jaroslav Plesl appear in the film as dubious police officers in a crime film with music by Radek Pastrňák.

The Prima group is also adjusting its programme, specifically its film channel Prima Max. On Thursday, 8 May, it will broadcast Marie Poledňáková's romantic comedy Líbáš jako Bůh, in which Jiří Bartoška plays the lead role. The film Obecná škola, scheduled for today, will be shown at a later date.

On Friday, 9 May, Jiří Bartoška will also be remembered by TV Nova. At 20:20, it will broadcast the 2012 Czech comedy Líbáš jako ďábel on its main channel. It will replace the planned comedy Dvě nevěsty a jedna svatba.

The commemorations will continue on television over the weekend. On Saturday, 10 May, ČT1 will broadcast the television production Hřbitov pro cizince (from 14:40) and the film Zbožňovaný (from 21:20), while ČT2 will broadcast the programme Krásný ztráty at 12:00 and the film Všichni moji blízcí (from 20:00).

On Sunday, 11 May, ČT1 will broadcast the television film Velký případ (from 22:05) and ČT art will broadcast the theatre production Don Juan (from 20:15).

Jiří Bartoška died today at the age of 78.
