Czech Television will switch to evening Christmas broadcasts on its main channel CT1 from mid-December. From Tuesday, 16 December, its prime-time broadcasts will feature daily fairy tales followed by entertainment programmes or well-established film comedies.
This year's premiere fairy tale on CT1 is Záhada strašidelného zámku starring Oskar Hes. The Christmas Eve broadcast continues on CT1 with the fairy tale Anděl páně 2 and the comedy Pelíšky. In addition, classic fairy tales such as Nejlepší přítel, Čertí brko, Anděl Páně, Pyšná princezna, Dvanáct měsíčků and Tři zlaté dukáty will also appear on CT1's Christmas broadcasts.
TV Nova' s Christmas Eve broadcast will also follow the usual pattern, offering, among others, the fairy tale Tři bratři or the comedy Láska nebeská. On Christmas Day, viewers will also see, among other things, the fairy tales Princ Bajajaja, Z pekla štěstí, Řachanda or the films Císařův pekař a Pekařův císař.
The main channel of TV Prima will offer the audience the fairy tale Pyšná princezna, the comedy Sám doma or the fairy tale Princezna zakletá v čase 2, as well as other fairy tale and film titles. The comedy Sám doma will once again become the main Christmas title on TV Prima on Christmas Eve.
The classic Christmas fairy tale Tři oříšky pro Popelku will be broadcast by Seznam TV this year, just like last year. It will be broadcast on Christmas Eve. The Christmas block will open on Sunday 21 December with the evening broadcast of Jak se budí princezny. It will also broadcast the traditional fairy tale Tři zlaté vlasy děda Vševěda or Dařbuján a Pandrhola.
TV Barrandov will present Christmas concerts in its Christmas Eve broadcast. After Sejdeme se na Cibulce, the programme André Rieu - Vánoce v Sydney will follow. During the Christmas holidays, it will also present Největší hity Karla Svobody or documentary Všechny lásky Karla Gotta.
New Year's Eve and New Year
New Year's Eve will be marked by live and studio shows on most stations. ČT1 will present New Year's Eve editions of its programmes Výborná show, Zázraky přírody and Všechnopárty. The New Year's Eve broadcast will culminate with a recording of the Stardance Tour. Nova will bring the traditional New Year's Eve Television News and a special edition of Na lovu, Prima will add a comedy block including New Year's Eve shows Inkognito and Partička.
Seznam TV (Lajna, Autobazar Monte Carlo) and TV Barrandov will also prepare New Year's Eve programmes of their own creation. The latter will offer New Year's Eve editions of Vaření s Jirkou Babicou, Policie Delta, Vím, že nic nevím and its erotic show Sexoňa.
ČT1 will open the new year with the premiere of Vlny, Nova will present Největší dart and Prima will present the comedy Cesta do Ameriky 2.
