The ADC Awards competition is now accepting entries for this year's competition with the slogan "ADC Awards are the new CAPTCHA".
The Art Directors Club Czech Republic is now accepting entries for the 33rd annual ADC Awards competition. Early Bird applications can be submitted until 31 January, with the standard deadline ending on 28 February. The competition will culminate with an awards ceremony in May.
This year's edition is framed by the slogan "ADC Awards are the new CAPTCHA". It responds to the flood of better and worse artificial intelligence outputs in the online media space and highlights the role of industry awards in cultivating the market and setting benchmarks, which is more important than ever.
"Long before the boom in artificial intelligence, the ADC Awards separated campaigns that someone had thought about from the rest. That's why we found the idea of a CAPTCHA test apt. Creating a great campaign is not as easy as clicking through all the images with a traffic light, but the contribution of people and their thinking is still just as essential to the success of the whole thing," says Martin Svetlík, chairman of ADC Czech Republic.
A new feature of this year's competition is a significant expansion of the jury. The work in the first round of the competition will be evaluated by an international online jury composed of members of European ADC clubs, which includes more than 40 jurors. This model is intended to bring a higher degree of objectivity and a stronger international perspective to the evaluation of Czech work.
"By expanding the jury to include members of ADC clubs across Europe, we are strengthening the objectivity of the evaluation and bringing the competition closer to international standards. Our goal is for the award-winning works to stand out not only on the domestic scene, but also in a broader European context," adds Jana Pokorná Valenčíková, Executive Director of the club.
This year's competition is again divided into two main juries: the Advertising Jury and the Art Jury. The Advertising Jury will be led by Manuel Wenzel, Chief Creative Officer of TBWA\Switzerland AG. Ramona Todoca, Creative Director at Wieden Kennedy, will be the President of the Art Jury. The remaining members of the jury will be announced in January.
Applicants can submit their work in 43 categories, with two new ones added this year. The Advertising section now includes a new category, Online Visual, which focuses on visuals in the digital environment. The second new category in the craft section is the subcategory AI Craft in Production, which recognises visual and production innovations and craftsmanship achieved using AI tools.
Martin Svetlík is once again the mentor for the applications this year, advising applicants on, for example, the most suitable category for their work.
The winning entries, including the shortlist, automatically qualify for the European ADC*E Awards.
