The aim of the Venice Film Festival is to raise awareness of international cinema and promote it in all its forms—as an art form, a form of entertainment and an industry—in a spirit of freedom and dialogue. One section is dedicated to supporting the restoration of classic films as a contribution to a better understanding of the history of cinema.
